Dr Barrie provides the full array of childhood and travel vaccinations, including TB screening and the BCG vaccination against tuberculosis (TB). In the last three years, cases of TB in England have risen by 15% with some areas now on a par with developing countries.

BCG vaccination is strongly recommended for all children and adults. It protects against TB with one injection sufficient for life.

Those over the age of 12 months require a Mantoux test 3 days beforehand.

Coombe Medical Practice is an approved Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre.

We also administer the chicken pox (varicella) vaccine. This prevents the likelihood of serious chicken pox and lessens the chance of scarring. It is a course of two vaccinations. The child must be aged twelve months or more.
